Solent Coasts Cycling Challenge 2013
One of the highlights of 2012 for me was participating in and completing the 66 mile Solent Coasts Cycling Challenge.
Simply put I had not envisaged that I was capable of getting on my bike and lasting the distance, but as they say you never know until you try. As an event I have to say the support of the organisers (who themselves volunteer) was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and warm and with the weather being beautiful and sunny it certainly made for a memorable day.
On top of all of this I received a medal for my achievement, raising £125 for Hope and Aid Direct as well as completing the physical cycling challenge.
The challenge was not easy but I was with some friends from work and even as we neared completion hitting the stage where I had no energy left to give I was sure that I wanted to be back in 2013. My work friends were not to be persuaded back so I have persuaded another friend Essancekenobi to enter so we will be riding together and enjoying this wonderful event.
We are looking to raise the sponsorship together and would gratefully appreciate any donations that anyone may be able to make to this very worthy charity. If you are able to contribute then please visit our JustGiving page. Alternatively you can text (using a UK mobile phone) to 70070 with the text “FSHY79” and the amount of your donation (£1,£ 2, £3, £4, £5 or £10)
Everyone that chooses to give has our great thanks and appreciation.
